John: This is Must-Know Vietnamese Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 19. In this lesson, you'll learn more phrases expressing actions.
John: You will put a big smile on your Vietnamese friends' faces when you use these slang words and phrases to talk to them. They are about different actions in daily life.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Nguyet: vùi đầu vào
Nguyet: nói điêu
Nguyet: đo lọ nước mắm
Nguyet: bó tay
John: Nguyet, what's our first expression?
Nguyet: vùi đầu vào
John: literally meaning "bury someone's head into something." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "being busy with something."

John: literally meaning "measuring the fish sauce bottle." This refers to someone who checks and measures his fish sauce bottle after each time he uses it. When it's used as a slang expression it means "to be stingy."
